With the advancing of animation technology this oversight is no longer acceptable. Hence the updated hairstyle. Once the hairstyle was updated, they had to update the wardrobe as well. [You just don't change your hair without changing your clothes, male or female.] So I think it has less to do with gender roles and more to do with physics and technology. I remember how Tinker Bell was (and still kinda is) the most bitchy character in any Disney movie. I liked that about her. And not once in seeing this new movie advertised did I think "Oh hell yeah! Lesbians in Disney movies!" She looks like well. . . Tink. And honestly does it really make sense that she doesn't want your daughters gay but she wants them to see a scantily clad woman (well faerie). Now last time I checked that's pretty much what lesbians like, seeing scantily clad women (in preference to men I mean). Soooo. . .? This pissed me off a bit.
