PETA, PETA, PETA!
By Jeff Fecke | January 29, 2007
Jill at Feministe has a nice post on the sexism inherent in PETA ads. (Warning: link may not be 100% work-safe depending on how strict your place of employment is.) PETA is also, of course, anti-fat people; they’ve also compared feed lots to concentration camps, and once made fun of Rudy Giuliani for getting prostate cancer. (Which is rude no matter what you think of Rudy.)
I say this as the father of a vegetarian and the ex-husband of a vegetarian: PETA makes me want to go order a few steaks. They have the same effect on the vegetarians I’ve known through the years. They’re actively hurting their own cause. Heckuva job, PETA.

An ex-wife who is a vegetarian would make me want to eat raw steak right off the cow. As Denis Leary said, “I’ll carve off what I want, and ride the rest home!”
