    Teabagging Nation

    By Jeff Fecke | April 15, 2009

I just can’t understand why the Department of Homeland Security is concerned about right-wing terror groups:

Yes, for the record, that’s a Teabagger calling for the execution of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Senate Majority Leader, and the Secretary of State, in addition to four other Senators and three other Representatives. In what is surely just a coincidence, every member of the House of Representatives on the list is either a woman, gay, black, or some combination thereof.

Your conservative movement, ladies and gentlemen. I just don’t know why they keep losing.

They will tell you that they’re joking, of course. Unless someone does take them seriously, in which case they don’t approve but they understand why it happened, and isn’t it a shame that the poor fellow was driven to violence by those evil liberals?

Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Chris Dodd, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy are straight white men. That’s half the list.

While the sign and the attitude behind it are disturbing to be sure, please don’t turn it into something it’s not.

The post says “every member of the House of Representatives on the list”, not “every person on the list”. So I’d say Jeff is not the one turning it into something it’s not.

Clearly the right hasn’t yet cornered the market on stupid.

The protester is obviously targeting the Democratic leadership, which in the Senate is mostly white and male, and in the House is, well, not.
